Economic crisis has no effect on people who love Hermes.According to the data of Bain & Co. Sales company , although luxury goods sale is failing because of the continuing recession in Economic crisis , and saleroom has been fallen.However, Hermes sale is steadily increasing,especially its core products- Kelly and Birkin.
631 Hermes were sold in the Hermes auction twice a year which was held by Artcurial a few days ago.Volume of business reached 824,206 euros,which was outstripping last auction total 725,101 euros and set a new record.
A lots of retro products were showed on the auction such as silk fabric kerchief 、jockey boot .Most of the retro products were handbags which represented approximately 2/3 of that total.These were unique products that you couldn’t see it in the common market.
Michael Tonello who spent 160 million in buying Birkin sold it in this auction .And he said that HERMÉS is not only a kind of fashion but also a investment.
Reselling Hermes could be dating from World War Ⅱ. Peter Nitz who openned a luxury goods shop in the past recalled and said that uncommon colour handbags’ price was 40% higher than original price.
However, Hermes company always stays away from such second-hand products sales .And they refuse to pass an opinion.
